The color of 2013 is emerald Green
If you still haven’t heard what the hottest color of 2013 will be, now you know. The Paton Company announced that emerald green will replace mandarin orange as color of the year. The Paton Company’s comment is that in 2012 mandarin orange gave the body the energy it needed to recharge its batteries and continue to move forward, while the emerald color is bright, lush and alive, enhancing the feeling of happiness and content, inspiring revelation and increasing balance and harmony.
Each December the Paton Company announces its prognosis for color of the following year. Among the other colors that have had this honor are turquoise, mimosa and blue iris. Emerald green is an impressive color which is most often associated with the splendor of precious stones. It is thought to be refined and luxurious. Ever since antiquity this nuance has been the color of beauty and new life in many cultures and religions. This is also the color of growth, renewal and prosperity. No other color implies regeneration as successfully as green. For centuries now many countries have considered green as a color of healing and unity.
According to the CEO of the research division of the Paton Company, Leatrice Eiseman, the time of green has come again.
“The whole green family is very strong, going through the 90s while we were focusing on nature, so it is nothing new, but what we had to consider this time was the psychological aspect. Emerald green is such a balanced color and balance is something we have to pay attention to,” she explains and adds: “It is a color of development, renewal, healing, unification and regeneration – all of these things we so direly need at this moment.”
On the runway, emerald green is already noticed in the 2013 collections of Michael Kors, Nanette Lepore and Vivienne Tam
